Enhancing Aging and Disability Resource Center Services to Individuals with I/DD

Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) are jointly funded by the Administration on Aging and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. They provide a single coordinated point of information and access for people seeking long term support to minimize confusion, enhance individual choice, and support informed decision making.

Currently, 43 states have ADRCs at one or more sites, and 109 locations in 37 states serve people with I/DD. The RRTC will increase TA to sites serving people with I/DD by collaborating with the Lewin Group, which operates the Technical Assistance Exchange to support the ADRCs. The RRTC and Lewin will co-facilitate a peer group of these ADRCs using monthly conference calls and a listserv to address such issues as enhancing aging and disability service network collaboration, supporting self-determination for individuals with I/DD, assessing service and support needs, and future residential, legal, and financial planning for individuals and their families.
